The only thing missing from this picture is me, a pot of boiling water and butter...lolLucky for the bird I don't like boiled Pelican......Spending every summer as a child at our family cottage in Maine on an island off the southern coast...we tried to eat as much seafood as possible ,
it was fresh that morning right off the boats...
This canvas was painted for a customer that had a real love of the beach....he wanted the crab and lobster to be painted in the colors they take on when they are cooked......

Actually, I am in this picture - you just can't see me. I'm behind the umbrellas with my camera - photographing the pelican, and getting the drawn butter ready.
P.S. I want to paint the pelican and eat the sea critters.
I love seafood, especially lobster. Unfortunatly my sweetie is allergic to shellfish. I don't get to have it very often, usually when I'm out with the girls.
