A Woodland Tapestry

This tapestry was painted as one piece on 13st....sadly the full photo is somewhere in the maze of thousands of photos of custom pieces...once misplaced...Bermuda triangle time...lol
this custom piece was painted for a lovely lady, that is no longer with us...she loved detail and hated 18st, so all her very elaborate canvases were designed and painted on 13st...she always finished her current project, before starting the next...I designed pieces for her starting in 1974.... from the time I trained at my first shop in Georgetown...she followed me and was a joy to design for...old world...a true lady from her hat and gloves that always matched...elegant in her manner and her choice of projects......she is truly missed...

AAAAAH a REAL needlepointer!! and such a lovely piece. This is the story also with my friend Beth, (also now gone) for whom I did the chair seat with the toad and maple leaves - and the leopard frog with his foot dangling in the water.

Don't be sad, ladies. The late lamented stitcher had hours of joy with her custom designs and if we are all careful to tempt new stitchers with goodies, then others will replace her.

It is a lovely classic, one of those you do so well.
