Eggs seem to be rage these days...all textured and counted , with patterns in different stitches....Quited and patchwork... and very nice some of these eggs are....but there is also place for the painted egg.....this gives a stitcher the option of working the egg in basketweave and getting the same effect of texture......
The painted canvas seems to be forgotten sometimes, but still plays an important roll to many needlepointers...than...some days I feel like a dinosaur.... lol...

These are gorgeous, of course - I especially like the roses.
Dear Dinosaur:
I'm with Judy--that rose egg is beautiful! But the lamb is pretty durn cute....
Remember that there are close to 80,000 needlepointers Out There in the U.S. per the survey TNNA did last spring. Plenty of them belong to the Tent Stitch Clan, too. It's just the folks who embellish the heck out of their designs are online and vocal.
So don't feel out of date. There are probably a lot of folks who lik their NP Old School.

Dinosaur, my big toe! I agree with the girls, I love the roses, but I also like almost all of the other ones. It does not matter how they are stitched, they are all wonderful!
