I decided that the only way to see how my little new turtle pattern would look when done...
I painted Mr. Slide on 18st and started to work him.....since the pattern has a lot of start and stop....i decided to use a wide variety of fibers...sparkle, shiny, matte ...everything but the kitchen sink, to make the little guy a little more Squiggee like...it has given him a depth that he didn't possess before...he is rich, in trio, vineyard classic silk, snows, glitterati, DMC floss, DMC satin floss, Krenik metallic and now I am going to add some Mandarin floss ..... that my pals in WA sent me to try.......oh my I am becoming a fiber junkie...you just can't take a wool stitcher and give her all this new stuff to pick from....I am a little bit of a tart...I love them all...they are rich in colors and finishes..it makes a very simple stitcher like myself look good....I am getting use to how much harder they are to use than wool...lol...but my stash is slowly getting out of control....I love it......and best of all...I don't have to use a frame...us old girls, like to roll and squish our canvases....things are really bad ...i am looking into different needles..... a friend even sent me a little case ,you open lined in sticky something ...that you can throw your beads on and then you can get one at a time with your needle...they stick so well..i could bead while being tossed out a plane...you would have to literally toss me...lol...I am having a silly day...

AAAAAGH I don't like those little sticky cases. Makes it too slow. I just pour my beads into a medicine bottle cap, as they are easier to snag that way. I can't believe it took such a short time for you to convert to a stash junkie like the rest of us. You certainly resisted hard. LOL
Welcome to our world! You are having such a great time!
Hi Gail,
LOL!!!
Silliness is fun!
Mr. Slide is looking fabulous!
It sounds like what you have is a Tacky Bob.
Adding to stash is one of the pleasures of stitching. :-)
