Cutting Edge Stuff !

When there is so much bleak news these days, it is comforting to know that children still have the ability to be silly .... just plain kids instead ,of little people attached to their i-phones, and madly texting each other rather than face to face interaction...it has always seemed to me that technology is great but it doesn't take the place of human contact...!
This morning while checking my emails...lol...seems to be so routine, you wonder what you did before emails...oh that's right !.... you checked your answering machine...and before that, you just had to answer the phone ...... surprise...no machine to screen for you and no caller ID...lol...the olden days as kids say...anyway...I noticed an article on my homepage about Silly Bandz bracelet crazies and how some schools were banding wearing them...apparently, kids collect, trade and roll around on the floor fighting over these silly little bites of shaped rubber Bandz ...the more the merrier...too funny for words...like all fades this too will pass and one day a gray haired granny will find one tucked in a book and it will make her laugh out loud when she remembers ! how at one time she thought she would just die if she didn't have them all !!!......I am trying to think what was so hot when I was a kid...we had pop bead jewelry ...these bright curious glow in the dark colored beads..... you were endlessly popping them together...making bracelets, necklaces and belts... as they were also the same glow in the dark plastic colors as these new rubber Bandz bracelets the same factory probably just retools for each generation of plastic rubber stuff...
My mother would swear and her eyes would bug out when she vacuumed up some of my plastic pop beads...she was always confiscating them , but somehow we would have more...
I don't know but this seems like a pretty banal craze, and we should be glad that kids still have the ability to be oh so silly......too bad i am too old for this craze..now I could afford to have as many as I wanted.....lol..I wouldn't have to depend on my allowance...
