I am glad to report that Omar is recovering from his life altering operation preformed on Tuesday. Omar had a small growth removed...at first we thought it was a pimple then it started to grow fast and we have seen many before on other dogs....nothing serious, but it really bugs the dog....so we got a two for one...not really, vets seem to charge for every little thing the same way our doctors do....anyway, the time had come to have the family jewels removed, as we always do being very responsible parents....better for the dog's health and we certainly don't want Omar accused of getting the neighbors dogs up the pole...no unwanted puppies....
So Omar gritted his teeth and just went with the flow.....needless to say he was surprised when the anesthesia wore off...yikes...he came home with a whole list of dos and don't, and he has become more like his old self everyday....it is amazing no bandages, no pain pills, and his stitches look like wire...now if Omar was a man...he would still be in intensive care....so now he is set but for his annual check-up.....it is always interesting to see how a dog responds to the next visit after this traumatic episode.....lol.....we are tying to keep him from jumping , but the only way we could really control him is to tie him to a chair.....
Little Squiggee seem to have drawn the short straw....a couple of months ago ,she had a check-up and the vet noticed that she was developing another cataract in he good eye.....it has developed very fast, making Squiggee a little off...I am sure she will make the best of it as she has her limited eye sight before, but she seems to be having a time of it...she is relying more and more on her other senses, and I am afraid her ball games are a thing of the past...but she has Omar as her constant shadow ,.... they sleep , eat and play together , I am sure he make her feel more secure....we will be sure to not move any furniture and help her when she needs it....animals are amazing.... she jumps on and off things at night, has a healthy appetite and as sweet as ever ......a human couldn't adapt this fast...
You love your animals like your children and it is always hard to see the signs of age.....we have had all sorts of ailments when our pooches get older, but this is new to us......but Squiggee is such a smart dog with brave nature...I am sure she will take this little glitch in life in stride...
Now as far as MOM goes............60 is fast approaching and I think it just stinks....lol........I don't plan on having a stiff upper lip...I will probably moan the whole day....lol...I know what a wuss !
