OK...since moving West...and being in a new environment...somethings have caught my interest...
On the East coast the Canadian Goose is a symbol so popular in the country...on cards , on tablecloths..carved in wood sporting a plaid bow on your door...they are just everywhere..the symbol of cozy...so when I first heard a big flock making their goosey noises fly over and land in the cow field across the way...I was fascinated...but when I mentioned the birds to my mother-in-law...she said that they were like flying rats and pooped on everything , and she would chase them out of the yard.....well I thought this was funny and when she said that there was even goose season..I thought she was kidding....
well yesterday a flock of maybe 50 spent all day next door on their lawn grazing...evidently this time of year tiny green grass comes up just under all the staw looking stuff that passes for winter grass here...after all it is just the plains....anyway..the geese just Jones for the stuff...
this morning it was our turn...so we let Omar take care of the poop machines...they are not fans of the barking dog...although many were as large if not larger than our minature black poodlemy husband was truly appalled by stepping in this thick green sticky poop.....so now we are on goose alert...who would of thought these beautiful (extra large ) birds are so undesirable...
my mother-in -law..was right...flying rats.....

They can also awaken you at undesirable hours, like before sun-up. Go Omar, Go!
