The house is finished and on it's way .....all tidy , I even taped the edges because 10st can unravel faster than any canvas...I included a color chart with my suggestions of corresponding wool colors that come as close as you can to the paint....when I first started to paint stock in this business, the shop that I worked for would always include a sample of the wool to mix your paints from...this made it very worker friendly...now of course unless you have a warehouse full of every fiber out there, this is no longer a viable way to design....customers will always override what you have picked anyway... the stock I first painted more than 30 years ago came with the wool...kitted....but then customers would still change colors...some people want to brighten up a piece and some to tone down...you never know...so I just paint what i feel is the best color and keep them too a minimum ...less confusing...because no matter how careful you paint people see colors differently and I learned early on too many shades was worthless....I can't count the times a customer would return to show me a finished piece I had designed...they had worked only three shades of green ,when I had painted three families with three shades each ( rule of designing...light ..medium and dark...the minimum to shade effectively)........they had turned nine colors into three....a waste of my time and their money !!!
Mr. Squiggee has the scoop on the finished piece on his blog...so take a look...
