I kid you not....Las Vegas which I always considered an urban myth, depicted in movies as flashy and trashy, a place where you can spend a whole day sitting on a bench and watching an amazing array of Squiggee charters pass by is actually true....big hair ..spandex and plenty of bling...Squiggee felt right at home, and I swear Omar will never be the same...he must of been an Elvis impersonator in a previous life....He just had his do done and now has much more of a pompadour on his head....he keeps mumbling.."Thank you, thank you very much"...with a certain swagger...anyway we stayed at the Cosmopolitan..and it only cost us 50.00 each dog a night extra..but the room was shear luxury and besides Omar said he and the Squig were worth it....even though his stay did not include the pool....
Long Beach and the show was nothing special...miles of needlepoint, fibers and just not my cup of tea...I was only there to check on things in general and was quick in and out.....my idea of a bus mans holiday anyway...and besides Vegas was calling.
In my opinion these shows should only be displaying new designs and products....I am not a needlepointer and would never take a class...that part of the business has never interested me.....
what is missing are the average needlepointer..the ladies that frequent the shops all over the US...it would be a hoot to get their impressions of the trade.....
Of course after being gone for two weeks....there has been a lot of catching up...we have had computer issues right off the bat and had to have a new system designed...we will get it back tomorrow...it is amazing how much I use the computer for business.....and we did have many new models waiting for us and that is always exciting....my studio is in the process of being renovated..it will be great, but this always causes a big turmoil...
We have many new plan's for this year already in place so look for an exciting time here in Squiggeeland.....................
