A June Bride

Not ever custom piece comes out of my head...well yes making a particular canvas work with the size and stitch count is a part of it....but sometimes a customer has seen something that just touches her heart and she can envision a canvas that is very personal....
This is of course Cinderella...she was on a cover of a cross stitch design....very heavy handed with black outlines and a big clunky flower at the top...and no happily ever after.....so my customer wanted something very weddingly( I know that is just a made up word, but I get it)...she also didn't want it huge, but on 13st....everything but the basic layout needed to be changed and instead of the big clunky flower I added a spray of forget-me-knots , lilies of the valley, and rose buds...I also gave her a little bouquet
sometimes I dread painting this kind of feel good sentimental canvas...especially since it is very hard to get a delicate feeling on 13st.....but their is a part of me, disciplined and I always try my best to make a customers dream come true...just me and the fairy godmother...lol
don't get me wrong , I loved Cinderella when I was a kid, I had a little pink record player that was in a pink case and I had a wonderful little record complete with all the characters and songs of Cinderella...even the dress being ripped...this I guess was my generations version of DVD...I played that little record till it was so scratchy you couldn't hear anything....I too like all little girls believed that my prince was just out there waiting for me to grow up....and in some ways I did find him...not the perfect fantasy prince , but real special man....
anyway...I hope this bride and groom enjoy a little of this fantasy when presented with this very sweet gift....after all...Cinderella is the quintessential Bride after all....
the design area is 8 x 11 1/8"......and painted on 13st with love !
