This time of year as my birthday approaches , I am always very aware of the deadline for Christmas...when I designed special projects for the White House in the past , they had to be well on their way to completion so the stitchers had time and then the finisher....the trade is always out of step with the time of year...you paint Santa's in July and Easter eggs in Winter...lol...always looking ahead...although Christmas seems to be the biggest draw for designers and goes all year long now.....these designs were individual elements of the finished sleigh at the top of the blog...kind of a prelude to all the shaped designs Squiggee produces now every element was two sided...not much fun for the sticher, but when the sleigh hung from the Grand Foyer at Christmas it was enjoyable from any angle.....I can't remember the year will have to look it up...but I had one of my designs in the Grand Foyer from early 90's till the Christmas after 9/11
...that Christmas sadly the public was not omitted to see the Christmas decorations...I enjoyed

having my work in the White House especially since I am a born and breed Washingtonian..born at George Washington Hospital 11:33 PM July 12, 1950...my my that makes me feel 100...no matter where I live, Washington is my hood....lol....
I guess many people feel that way about their home town...but some are surprised because Washington is not that homespun cuddly kind of place...but I love it..flaws and all ...
