This time of year is always marks a time that Mr. Squiggee and I take stock...Mr. Squiggee will be celebrating his 63 birthday Sunday and then I will turn 61 Tuesday...July is big in Squiggeeland...filled with yummy birthday cake and celebrating at least a week to include both birthdays....
this birthday is also marked by a new home that we will move into sometime next week...this make two moves in the last eight months...I don't recommend it...but the upside is how you weed out anything that is taking up room in your life...baggage...you got it...when you have to think about actually moving something , you all of a sudden take stock..is this necessary...have I worn these shoes or clothes lately...if any answer is no then bye bye to that...
I think change can be scary and wonderful at the same time...change for the better is always preferable... we are thrilled with this change.....
my new studio is spacious and more storage space than I have ever had before...what a plus...so now I can get down to some serious business....Squiggeeland is getting ready for some big changes....we are always moving forward...

riddled with stress, and it is good to see the stress dissolve...what a great birthday we will have...
FYI...we are staying with friends till the house is ready and they have 8 parakeets and three cats...interesting you say...well hell yes !!!...all the birds and cats are rescue animals...the birds have all the amenities...they are served fresh parsley(Italian mind you) sweet corn and peas, along with their seeds along with an assortment of toys that they play with....I never realized that parakeets come in such a variety of colors...they are funny to watch, very social and they seem to enjoy the company of each other...my friend says they can live to 20yrs....my bird when I was a kid ,only lived two...but the level of care was very different...they are messy and noisy sometimes...the dogs love them and have been sporting feathers in their fur...the cat are gated off to a back bedroom...but one cat called Blaze finds teasing Omar great fun and vice verse...Omar has learned to open the baby gate and venture into the cat room...lots of running but no one gets hurt... we now have to lock the gate because the other two cats are not amused...lol
anyway...we are enjoying all the changes and having fun...

- I am a working artist. I have been designing needlepoint since 1972,when after graduating college , I took an apprenticeship at American Needlework Center in Georgetown, DC. I found my calling and have never looked back.I have designed for the Washington Cathedral and the White House and continue a large custom business . In 2000 I started to design for wholesale under the name BY GAIL .In 2004 Squiggee designs was born and introduced on eBay. These designs appeal to me, just fun! Squiggee opened up the world embellishments to me. I have been married to a very wonderful master cabinet and furniture designer going on 37 years.He is the only man that has not bored me.He has a wicked sense of humor and a loving nature,we are well matched.Since his early retirement in 2008, he joined the Squiggee Family , managing the office and he is our link to the shops. He has become such an intracranial part of the day to day running of Squiggee Designs , that shops refer to him as " Mr. Squiggee". We have a Chi-weenie named Twinkle , a mix of Doxie and Chihuahua and her older brother, a six year old black miniature poodle named Omar , who sports with a small white goatee.
