So now we take the two elements, combine them and come up with the finished design you see at the top of the blog ....this happens all the time ..you have one design that natually compliments the other ...the carp and the blue and white cherry blossom patern were made for each other....the carp was also used in a foldup tassel and jeweled bag....see the original sketch above
...this was designed and sold by Festival esigns by Gail...in the 80's ...very popular....
the tassel and jeweled Tiny Bag , the pattern supplied to me via a shop by an employee at the time. I also designed a custom bag using the same pattern that sported a customers name or intinals in all sorts of lettering fonts...in fact the bag was so popular that a larger pattern was supplied...the tassels and jewels I created were so popular that they showed up even on cuffs...see sketch above.....the bag ( see finshed bag was added to the wholesale line, as was the Carp / Blue & White Cherry Blossom border.....sadly they were never returned after the lease was terminated...........for shame for shame...just because you have made a model...the model is yours of course...but the design is mine.....alllllllll...mine....
My little hands created the image in needlepoint.......
I have heard from so many artists in this very twisty business, and how their designs are kept, changed, or copied.....now please, this is needlepoint girls and a luxury...it gives pleasure but something that saves a life, that I am aware of...an artist works hard to make a living, and for anyone to take any part of what is due that artist, whether it is monies or credit is just plain wrong...the kind of wrong that even a child understands... ...Just put yourself in a position of having your name removed from your creation and waiting for royalties that will never appear...or, better yet, seeing someone else's name on your design taking credit.....poof you are just removed from the picture !.....would you be little upset.???...hummmmmmmmmmmm......maybe just a little?
The Jewel and Tassel bag was added to the wholesale line on Feb 02, 2000.
PS- You might want to slide on over to Mr. Squiggee's blog and take a look. Interesting stuff.
